New approaches to determine the rate of radial muscle displacement using tensiomyography: A scoping review and new reporting guideline

In a recent review, it was found that there is no standardised method for measuring displacement and determining the rate of displacement (Vc) in tensiomyography. This lack of standardisation could lead to errors and inconsistencies in research. The review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA–ScR) guideline and found that 10 different concepts were used to determine Vc in the 62 included studies. These concepts were grouped into three categories. This review provides an overview of the current methods for measuring displacement and determining Vc in tensiomyography, in order to promote the development of a standardised approach.
